    A REVIEW OF CONFLICTS AND OTHER PRACTICE ISSUES

     
    1.0 CLE Credits in Ethics and Professionalism and 1.0 CLE Credits in Skills
    (suitable for newly admitted attorneys under 22 NYCRR 1500.2(D)*

    This program is based on a practical transactional scenario involving, inter alia: the formation of a small business entity, real estate transactions, and leasing issues. The materials and interactive discussion will involve the best practices and the relevant Rules of Professional Conduct when using “forms” such as the Retainer, Conflict Waivers, By-Laws, Broker, and Loan Agreements. Some of the ethical issues to be discussed are conflicts, competence, scope of representation, diligence, communication, client confidences, legal fees, record keeping, and reporting misconduct.

    *This program is pending approval by WBASNY in accordance with the requirements of the NYS Continuing Legal Education Board for a maximum of 1.0 credit hours in Ethics and Professionalism and 1.0 credit hours in Skills acceptable for transitional credit for established and newly admitted attorneys. WWBA is a chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, which is an accredited provider of CLE credits. Full and partial scholarships for this program based on financial need are available. Full scholarship for the $10 CLE certificate charge (maximum of 10 attendees) for this program are available for attorneys at non-profit organizations that provide direct legal service for victims of domestic violence.
