Kathy Rosenthal is a partner in Rosenthal & Markowitz, LLP, concentrating in the areas of Estate Planning and Estate Settlement, Trust and Will drafting, Elder Law planning and Real Estate; Partners Linda Markowitz and Sherry Bishko concentrate in Family Law and Matrimonial matters. Together with their top-notch staff, the firm works in all phases of estate planning, family law and adoption for married and non-married couples and single persons.
In addition to private practice, Kathy taught Wills, Trusts & Estates as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Pace University School of Law from 1995 through 2014. She is very proud that she was selected Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year by the students in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005. Kathy also taught Wills, Trusts & Estates as an Adjunct Professor of Law at CUNY Law School from Fall 1989 through Fall 2001 and also co-taught a 12-credit Wills Clinic at CUNY Law School from Fall 1991 through Spring 1993.
Kathy is active in the professional community, particularly the county-wide bar associations. In the WWBA, she served numerous officer and director positions and then as President of the WWBA for two years. For the WCBA, she co-chaired the Westchester County Bar Association Trusts & Estate Committee and in 2015 she retired from the Executive Board of the Trusts & Estates Committee. She served as a CLE coordinator for the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, then for the WWBA. In June 2012, Kathy was installed on the Board of the Westchester Estate Planning Council where she served until June of 2016.
Kathy is also active in the community at large, providing services and continuing education. She currently sits on the Board of Advisors for the Westchester Community Foundation. She previously sat on the Board of the WWBA Foundation, the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services after serving as Vice President and President, the Women’s Enterprise Development Center, Inc., the Pace Board of Visitors. and as a Friend of Gail. She teaches the Wills component of the Pace Law School New Directions Program as needed; She speaks regularly for several charitable organizations and community organizations on various estate planning topics.
In practice since 1978, Kathy still very much enjoys the work she does -- making order out of chaos and bringing information and comfort to her clients.
