Law Day, celebrates the rule of law. It was formally established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1958. For more than 25 years, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in White Plains and the Westchester Women’s Bar Association have hosted a joint celebration of Take Your Children to Work Day and Law Day for our children and local students. The program celebrates the legal professionals who work in and with the Court as well as the annual theme civic theme of Law Day. Through interactive presentations, we educate the participants about civics and government to help them understand their role as informed, active citizens in the legal system. This year, we celebrate the 19th amendment “Your Vote, Your Voice, Our Democracy: The 19th Amendment at 100” which granted women the right to vote. Special presentation by the:
